Edmonton Public Schools (EPS) has selected ACI Architects as Prime Consultant for the modernization of and addition to the architecturally-significant 1914 Highlands School, currently a 7-9 junior high school serving 200 students. Upon completion, capacity will increase to 800 students across grades Kindergarten to 9. A driver of the redevelopment as expressed by the EPS Project Team is delivery of a building that speaks to 21st century learning. The approximate construction budget has been established as $20.5million with an additional sum of $750,000. available for design and installation of solar-related sustainable technologies. July 2020 is targeted for substantial completion.
